Computer giant Hewlett-Packard recently released a low-cost server aimed at small and medium businesses looking to consolidate their IT resources despite a limited budget.

Dubbed the HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8, HP’s latest offering for small businesses in the Philippines is a small cube-type server that comes with a single server and up to four hard disk drives, and was designed to fit on tabletops and small spaces inside the office.

“Additionally, with Insight Remote Support, the server can send alerts to HP directly and automatically, so the customer need not call HP anymore — we call them,” she added.

Aside from the MicroServer Gen8, HP also announced the local availability of the MI310e Gen8 v2 server, which is ideal for multi-branch deployments; and the DL320e Gen8 v2 server, a blade-type server that is ideal for multiple rack deployments.
