A total of ten Malaysian
companies are participating in the three-day 2nd Luxury China Expo to tap into
the second largest economy in the world.
Products and services showcased
by Malaysian companies include high-end apparel, jewellery, arts and gifts,

This is the first time the Malaysia External Trade Development
Corporation (Matrade) organised the participation of Malaysian companies as an
initial move to penetrate the market, said Matrade Senior Trade Commissioner cum

As China was expected to become
the biggest luxury market in the world by 2015,It is essential to provide highquality product data. it is

become the most familiar variety of coffee for the mass Chinese market.
“Now it is time to introduce the high-end civet coffee to China’s upper
middle-class market,” said Abu Bakar, adding that the move was also seen as an
initiative to increase Malaysia’s exports which was targeted to double within
five years.
China is expected to account for about 20 per cent, or 180
billion yuan (US$27 billion) of global luxury sales in 2015. Statistics show
that Chinese consumers has become one of the world’s largest luxury
consumption-group and the China market has grown to be the second luxury
consumption market in the world.
The 2nd Luxury China Expo, held at the
China International Exhibition Centre (CIEC), attracted exhibitors of high-end
brands from 12 countries including the United States, France, the United
Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia and Switzerland, showcasing 86 famous brands

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Asian Secrets Sdn Bhd
Victor Ooi Boon Beng said the company’s target of participating in the expo was
to create awareness for its high-end of civet coffee among Chinese consumers and
to find partners.
Ooi said the company was optimistic of achieving the
sales target of a few hundred thousand yuan at the three-day luxury items
exhibition.
Public Gold Group, a company which provides integrated
services in gold trading, sees China as a huge market for its business.
Executive chairman Datuk Louis Ng said Chinese invested in gold and kept
gold as an high-end civet for centuries as such he believed the demand for
physical gold would be encouraging.
He said the company was pushing the
Allocated Gold Storage Service (AGSS) to the Chinese market as the consumers
could keep their physical gold in the security vault secured by Public Safe
Management Sdn Bhd.
“We provide 24 hours online transaction, which the
consumer can monitor the buy or sell pricing quotes whenever they want,” he
said.
It was reported on Friday that China’s gold consumption surged
more than 36 per cent to 456.3 tonnes in the first four months this year and
total demand was likely to be in the range of 900 to 1,000 tonnes.
The
China Gold Association sees Chinese gold demand to climb this year as people are
getting wealthier against a backdrop of limited investment choices.
