it's very fitting that we can bring you quips and cleverness from Mr
Manolo Blahnik on this fine Tuesday. The designer, whose wares are
well-represented in the accessories report,Clothing designer Erin
Fetherston stood nearby wearing a green-and-black ensemble from her
spring collection above a pair of hoganscarpe. participated in the forthcoming God Save My Shoes documentary.It got to the point where some women would wear fashionairmax
if they knew Monsieur Masseur was coming to a meeting. In a newly
released teaser from the film, Blahnik lauds the demise of one of
recent seasons' most popular shoe styles.
‘I'm very happy that
this period of shoes, the furniture shoes that people are wearing with
the awful platforms and things like this, is over—or getting there,' he
says.
Blahnik is firmly on the record with his distaste for
platforms. His slender stilettos have withstood the trend, and women
are returning to his daintier vision of feminine footwear.
‘The
main point that I always think about is that it has got to be elegant.
